A. 1. Eltiuent Monitodng (Cont.)
As indicated an page 14 o(the permit, when the most sensitive analytical method which complies with this
part, has a detection limit greater than or equal to the permit limrt, the permittee shall report 'less than (the
detectable limit),' as appropriate. Such reports shall not be considered as violations of the permk limit. The
present lowest method detection limits for specific parameters (which have limitations which are, in some
cases, less than or equal to the detection limd) are as follows:
Arsenic 0.01 mryl
Cadmium 0.0003 mg/
Chromium 0.01 mgA
0.01 mgA
Chromium, Hexavalent 0.01 mgA
0.0002 mgA
Copper 0.005 mgrl
Cyanide 0.010 mg4
Metals and WAD Cyanide must be analyzed 6y methods capable of producing calculated method detection
limits equal to or less than the values listed above. !n the calculation of average concenvaG'ons of these
parameters, those analytical results that are less than the method detection limit shall be considered to be
zero for calculation purposes. If all individual analytical results that would be used in the calculations are
below the method detection limit, the 'less than X ; where x is the method detection limit, shall be reported.
Otherwise, report the calculated value.
2. Special Monitoring: Six Times Analysis: BMRUBMGC is required to perform asix-time (monthly) analysis for
ammonia, meroury, nitrate, nitrite, and suKde in the 001 discharge. Also, WAD cyanide will be required semi-
annuallyfor atwo year pedod. This analysis is being required to verify that these parameter levels in the
treated wastewater discharge are at insignificant levels. Previous data indicates that these parameters have
been detected below minimal levels of detection or at very low levels below the water qualty standards. See
Part I.B.3 0(the permit /or further information related to the six-time analysis.
ll evaluation o/the data demonstrates a de(nite or probable vitiation of water quality standards, the permit
may be amended to incorporate additional monitoring and/or limtatons, as allowed under Part II.B.S of this
permit. Additional monitoring may also be required where the detection limit for a parameter is above the
appropdate water quality standards.
Lead 0.005 mryl
Total Mercury 0.00025 mgrl
Selenium
Silver
Zinc 0.05 mgA
3.
