DesCllDtion of Discharoe Point 002 and Required Practices: <br />Discharge Point 002 corresponds to the zone of affected groundwater that developed as a result of the historic <br />flow o/groundwater from the backfilled West Pit into the adjacent Rso Seco alluvial aquifer within the region of <br />the window as delineated in figure 2. In tts immediate response to the observation of seeps contributing to the <br />surface water Bow of the Rso Seco in 1998, BMRI implemented a groundwater pump and treat program <br />designed to eliminate continued flow of groundwater to the Rso Seco. The pump and treat system has <br />effectively eliminated that flow and there is no discernible discharge to the Rso Seco /rom this Discharge <br />Point. The permit conditions (or 002 were added and revised to reflect the peAormance standard associated <br />with a potential discharge /rom 002. <br />
