Ponderosa pine plantation and cliffs nearby drainages. The plantation ++as surveyed for raptor
• resting acti+•ity. but no nests ++cre obscn•cd during any surveys from 2000 through 2003. 'fhe
} uung age class of the tees, low height and spacing make this area Icss than optimum as raptor
nesting habitat. Rock outcrops in [)ovc and Sheep Comsl Gulches +vcre checked for nesting
• activity, but no nest sites were located during any of the years.
t 7herc arc two Aspen stands within a fc++• hundRd yards of the site. E3oth of these stands arc
deteriorating, and dominated by old gro++th trees 60-70+ feet tall. 'fhe spacing, lsek of a good
canopy court and understory makes these areas low qualiq• for accipitcr nest sites.
there arc potcnti:d nest sites available in cliff's along nearby drainages, but none of these +vere
+cithin l!"1 mile of the site.
tiitc l'-l'('-03-t-I
Drill bite and :~cccss Route Ilabitat tiuncv
I Approsimatel}• 400 feet of nc++• access otF4tc main'ferrur Crcok road ++ill lx required for this
site.
