Exhibit A The 9.9 acre tract is located in the SW corner of
the Sz of the Ez of the SW4 of Section 7-T23S-R46W of the 6th
P.M. in Prowers County, Colorado. ( see Exhibit C-2 & 3 )
Exhibit B - Mining Plan The area to be mined is a sand dune
that rises above the surrounding terrain. Mining will begin
along the west side of the sand dune which is elongated to
the north and south. Mining will generally proceed in an
easterly direction and at a depth no deeper than the original
level of the surrounding area. Thus, original topsoil will
remain in place on the mine floor as the sand dune is removed.
The equipment to be used is a Model 930 Caterpillar front-
end loader equipped with a modified two cu/yd bucket. Dump
trucks will transport the material away from the site. The
plot map, Exhibit C-3 provides additional details.
Exhibit C-1 General Area Map
Exhibit C-2 USDA Aerial Photo at a scale of 4" per mile.
Exhibit C-3 Plot Map of the site at a scale of 1" per 200'.
Exhibit D - Wildlife Water Resources. Vegetation & Soils.
Wildlife See letter from the Colorado Wildlife Con-
servation Officer ( Exhibit D-1 ).
Water Resources No water resources are effected because
all mining will take place above the ground
water table.
Vegetation & Soils See the description of Dune Land
which over-lies the Tivoli sand series as
supplied by the USDA-SCS Soils Survey for
Prowers County, Colorado (Exhibit D-2). See
also the SCS Range Condition Inventory for
the site (Exhibit D-3).
Bxhibit E - Reclamation Plan We propose to carefully follow
the recommendations of the USDA Soil Conservation Service as
set .forth in their letter using the grass seed mixture and
seeding practice as recommended.
Due to the preservation of the original topsoil uncovered
by removal of the sand dune, the mine floor area will be best
suited for revegetation. The portion of the dune that remains
following mining will be graded to a 3:1 slope or flatter.
Since much of the dune material is wind deposited topsoil,no
other topsoil material is available or necessary. Seeding
with a grass seed drill will be done in the early spring of
the year when moisture conditions are at optimum levels.
