The inspection wu completed by Thomu l.eidich, ACZ Inc Engineer in behalf
of ROCRCASTLE.
The Busting 4 ponds were irespetted for struttural problems related to the embankment and the
fadlities, evidence of erosion, and other hazardous conditions.
Following are the results of the April 30, 1992 sediment pond inspettiotu.
POND 2
Pond 2 is a inclsed pond located west of the reclaimed Pic 2. The water level in pond 2 wu
approumacely 7 feet below the emergenry spillway inven. The trapezoidal ripnpped outlet channel
showed no sigtu of recent discharge and appeared to be intatt and functioning properly.
Vegetation on the crest and inside slopes consisted of limited amounts of native gasses and a few low
shrubs. There were no gullies, cracks, slides, or seepage observed on the embankment sideslopes.
The sediment level in the pond wu approumuely 1.5 feet below the water level. The accumulated
sediment is considered to be negligible compared to the storage apadty of the pond.
POND 3
Pond 3 is an indsed pond located west of the reclaimed Pic 3. The water level in pond 3 wu
approzimately 21 fen below the emergenry spillway inert. The trapezoidal ripnpped emergenry
spillway showed no signs of recent discharge and appeared to be intact and functioning properly.
Vegetation on the nest and inside slopes consisted of liatited amounts of native grasses and a few low
shrubs. There were no gullies, sack; slides, or seepage observed on the embankment sideslopes.
The sediment level in the pond wu approumately one foot below the wuer level. The accumulated
sediment present is considered to be negligible compared to the stooge txpadty of the pond
POND 4
Pond 4 is an indsed pond located west of the reclaimed Pic 4. The water level in pond 4 wu
approumately 1.5 feet below the dewatering orifice. There wu no evidence of recent discharge
oburved from tither the primary outlet riser or the emergency spillway channel. Both structures
