Cattany <br />Acting Division Director <br />RE: Adequacy Review Comments -Stroh Pit, Regulaz 112 Application <br />Class: Permit, File No. M-2002-078 <br />Dear Mr. Coulson: <br />Listed below aze adequacy review comments on the above-captioned Regular 112 Application for 119 <br />acres. The decision date for your application is scheduled for November 11, 2002. Therefore, I would <br />appreciate a response from you on or before October 25, 2002. (Your response should include two (2) <br />copies of each response and revised map). Review comments from the Office of the State Engineer, US <br />Army Corps of Engineers, and Kaneb Pipeline Company aze attached. Please be advised that your <br />conversion application may be deemed inadequate and may be denied on November 11, 2002 unless the <br />following adequacy review items aze addressed to the satisfaction of the Division. <br />6.4.3 EXHIBIT C -Pre-Mining and Mining Plan Mau(sl of Affected Lands <br />1. In conformance with Rule 6.2.1(2)(b) please revise the mining plan map to demonstrate that it has been <br />prepazed and signed by a registered land surveyor, professional engineer, or other qualified person. Also, <br />the Division prefer's that Exhibit C -Mining Plan Map be revised to a more uniform scale such as 1" _ <br />60', 1" = 100', 1"= 200', rather than 1"=140'. The Division also prefer's that the mining and reclamation <br />plan maps be of the same scale, if at all possible. Please respond. <br />6.4.4 EXHII3IT D - Minin>? Plan <br />2. The applicant lists on page 2 of the application form that liquid asphalt will be used or stored within the <br />permit area. Please indicate the general location where the liquid asphalt will be used or stored and <br />describe specific measures, such as a liner or containment berm, that will be implemented to contain the <br />asphalt in the event of a leak or spill. <br />3. The applicant mentions that the Stroh Pit will contain a south zone of 69.5 acres divided into 3 cells and <br />a north zone of 22.55 acres divided into 14 cells. These zones and cells aze not identified on any of the <br />maps provided. Please provide a revised copy of the mining plan map or an additional mining plan overlay <br />which depicts these various zones and cells. <br />
