J ..-~'
Thornburg Gravel Operations -2- May 6, 1983
Exhibit E - Reclamation Plan
1. The plan addresses final grading but does not address disposition of
the highwall.
2. Your proposed drill-seeded rate appears somewhat excessive (in terms
of seeds/square foot).
3. Indian ricegrass yenerally requires a deeper planting depth than
other species in order to ensure success.
4. Some discussion should be given to the nature of overburden (which is
planned for replacement) and its suitability as a growth medium,
particularly in light of the plan to replace such a than veneer over
a large area. Perhaps consideration should be given to enhancement
of the substrata and/or evaluation of limiting the area to be
topsoiled with a thicker medium (note: this comment is made in
response to information given to use a portion of this space as a
feed lot).
Exhibit H - Reclamation Costs
Your reclamation estimates should include costs for grading/contouring,
topsoil/overburden replacement, and mulch.
Other
When available, please send proof of publication and a copy of the
certified notice to the adjacent landowner (Perkins only?).
Sincerely,
rV 1~~
Mike Stanton
Reclamation Specialist
MS/ep
Uoc.
