Banks and Gesso, LLC
EXHIBIT G -WATER INFORMATION
Overview
This section describes the existing water features in and around the proposed mining
permit area, potential impacts on water resources due to mining and water requirements
for the project. Local surface water features in the vicinity of the project are shown on
Exhibit B -Index Map and Exhibit C-1: Pre-Mining Map (Man Made Features).
Surtace Water
The nearest major watercourse is the Uncompahgre River, which flows approximately
two-thirds of a mile northeast of the site. Other watercourses near the site include
Spring Creek (approximately 1 mile southwest) and Mexican Gulch (approximately half
of a mile east). The CJ Lateral flows approximately three-tenths of a mile southwest of
the permit area. Water used in aggregate washing will be diverted from the CJN Lateral,
which runs through the southwest corner of the site.
Groundwater
Groundwater will not be encountered at any depth during mining. A well permit records
search at the Office of the State Engineer yielded no wells within 600 ft of the permit
boundary. See Exhibit C-1 for further details.
Mining of the proposed excavation area will be by the dry-mining method. No
dewatering operations will occur, since groundwater will not be encountered at any
depth during mining.
Haldorson Sand and Gravel Mine 03023
Haldorson and Sons, Inc.
