Banks and Gesso, LLC <br />INTRODUCTION <br />This document presents an application for a State of Colorado, Division of Minerals and <br />Geology, Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board (CMLRB) Construction Materials <br />Regular 112 Operation Reclamation Permit. <br />The Applicant, Haldorson and Sons, Inc., is applying for this permit to mine sand and <br />gravel from the Haldorson property located in Montrose County, Colorado. The property <br />consists of approximately 156 acres lying in the East '/2 of the NE '/< and the East'/~ of <br />the SE'/< of Section 24, Township 49 North, Range 10 West of the N.M. P.M. Bounding <br />the site are LaSalle Road on the north, 6175 Road on the west and 6200 Road on the <br />east. The mining operation will run under the name of the Haldorson Sand and Gravel <br />Mine. <br />The property is currently used as cropland. Herbert D. and Alicia S. George own the <br />surface and subsurface rights on the property including the oil, gas and mineral <br />interests. Haldorson and Sons, Inc. will obtain the property through a Contract to Buy <br />and Sell Real Estate. Purchase of the property is contingent upon permit approval. <br />The Applicant will also operate one asphalt and one concrete batch plant on the site. <br />Independent haulers will truck the finished product from the site to market. Under <br />expected production rates of approximately 500,000 tons per year {tons/yr), the life of <br />the operation is expected to be approximately 21 years. The actual time frame for the <br />life of the operation is highly dependent on market conditions. <br />Land uses immediately surrounding the property include agricultural, residential and <br />transportation. The agricultural areas are located north, east and west of the site, while <br />the properties to the south of the site are limited residential in nature.
