• impoundment justifications and designs for these ponds are provided in
Appendices 4.6-N, 4.6-0 and 4.6-R. The fence was constructed
to facilitate the postmining landuse of grazing on the property. As such,
the fence is anticipated to remain in-place throughout the extended
liability period and in future years
Additional commercial land use property to be retained after the
completion of mining not associated with the ranching operation include the
hillslope along the Oak Creek drainage containing the Goat Trail and all of
the lower facility area located on P&M owned property. The hillslope
(Exhibit 3.6-7) will be used by a local utility company for construction,
access and maintenance of power transmission lines. The entire hillslope
is being provided to the utility to enable maximum flexibility in their
construction and alignment efforts. The Goat Trail is anticipated to be
the primary access with additional access constructed by the utility on an
as needed basis. The lower area (Exhibit 3.6-7) previously occupied by the
loadout facilities, foreman's office and bath house will be used as a
supply storage area by the utility. Most of this area will be leveled to
form a pad and graveled. Areas which are not graveled will be revegetated
to control erosion.
Renewal 9 3.6-19 July 17, 2001
