The following is a listing of
mammal, amphibian and reptile species potentially inhabiting croplands of the area:
• Western Harvest Mouse
• Northern Grasshopper Mouse
• Prairie Vole
• Coyote
• Red Fox
• Raccoon
• Long-tailed Weasel
• Striped Skunk
• White-tailed Deer
• Virginia Opossum
• Woodhouse's Toad
• Boreal Chorus Frog
• Tiger Salamander
• Northern Earless Lizard
• Eastern Yeilowbelly Racer
• Milk Snake
• Bull Snake
• Wandering Garter Snake
• Western Plains Garter Snake
• Red-stripped Garter Snake
• Plains Hognose Snake
• Bull Frog
• Western Spiny Softshell Turtle
• Northern many-lined Skink
Mining will cause temporary loss of food and habitat for wildlife, until reclamation is
complete. The proposed reclamation plans will restore the land to ponds capable of
supporting wildlife.
