LAFARGE
NORTH AMERICA
Construction Materials
The concrete-lined ditch will eliminate water loss concerns, however,
replacements will be made according to the Ageement.
16. Lafarge will utilize the existing farm access points during mining operations, these gavel
roads have been identified in Exhibit C. The access roads are approximately I S feet
wide, no improvements to the roads are necessary. When mining operations are
complete, the roads will be restored to their original condition.
17. Topsoil and overburden will be stripped with scrapers or dozers and placed separately in
temporary stockpiles within the mining area limits. The topsoil will be segegated and
stored separately from the overburden material as required by Rule 3.1.9(1). The depth of
topsoil to be stripped is 4" to 6"; the depth of overburden varies from 1.5' to 4.5'. The
mine plan map depicts the location and configuration of the topsoil piles. The stockpiles
will be protected from wind and water erosion by vegetative cover if in place more than 1
year, please see the Proposed Seed Mix on page 13 of the Revised Duckworth 112
Reclamation Permit Application. The stockpiles will be broadcast seeded and
incorporated into the weed control progam. Weed control consists of monthly
inspections during weed season and, if necessary, chemical treatments in the applicable
fall and spring seasons. Topsoil stockpiles in place for less than one yeaz will not be
vegetated.
18. The proposed conveyor crossing of WCR 20'/z will be an enclosed 100 foot span, 17
foot in height. The conveyor is composed of steel; the footings are anchored in concrete.
See enclosed Proposed Overhead Conveyor drawing for specifics. The bridge Lafazge
anticipates using at the Duckworth property is currently in use at our Tanabe property.
The enclosed engineering drawings provide specific information regazding the
foundations. When mining operations aze complete, the conveyor will be removed and
all areas affected by the conveyor will be returned to their original condition
19. Scrapers will be used to place the backfilled overburden and topsoil, Using scrapers to
layer the lifts at a 3:1 slope ensures a stable configuration.
20. All slopes, both above and below the water line, will be reclaimed no steeper than 3:1.
21. All Bankazd Sandy Loam located east of Idaho Creek will be salvaged in stockpiles for
use in reclamation. All topsoil will be replaced in disturbed azeas at a depth of6-IZ".
22.
