~LAFARG E
NORTH AMERICA
Construction Materials
7. WCR 7 to Duckworth property, and roads located on Cottonwood Pit. Proof of
notification to these structure owners can be found in the Proof of Notifications Exhibit.
8. There aze no wells located within 600 feet of the proposed Duckworth Pit, please see
enclosed Gravel Pit Well Permit Application. All ditch laterals located on and near the
Duckworth property have been added to Exhibit C and Exhibit S.
9. All wetlands were previously portrayed in Exhibit C, however the map did not distinguish
between jurisdictional and non jurisdictional wetlands. 1n the modified Exhibit C, the
jurisdictional wetlands are characterized by hatching, see map legend. See also Wetland
Delineation Map submitted to the Corps of Engineers. Wetland areas on the Duckworth
Property occur primarily as streamside wetlands developed in association with Idaho
Creek, irrigation ditches excavated in upland areas, and a wetland developed in
depression that collects flood irrigation water. The following paragraph is an excerpt
from the Wetland Delineation Report prepared by biologist Warren Keammerer:
"Human activity has played a major role in the development of wetland areas that are
associated with the irrigation ditches and the pooling of flood imgation water. Non-
wetland upland areas on the Duckworth site are used for the production of irrigated hay
crops (mostly smooth brome) and for grazing cattle. The riparian wetlands in the study
area consist of wet meadows dominated by a variety of perennial grasses and grass-like
species. The wet meadows mostly occur in the areas adjacent to Idaho Creek and
constitute the most abundant wetland type on the site."
There is a total of 3.25 acres of wetlands on the site, no jurisdictional wetlands will be
impacted. Please see enclosed letter from the Corps of Engineers Biologist, Terry
McKee, accepting the Duckworth wetland delineation.
10. Lafazge West, Inc. has taken into consideration the mining and reclamation plan of
Aggregate Industries, WCR at the adjacent site. In particular, Lafarge's mining limit
offset from the western property boundary has been adjusted, and Aggregate Industries'
slurry wall has been incorporated into the build plan for the relocated Smith & Emmons
ditch. The mining offset from the western property line has been adjusted to 60 feet, as
illustrated in Exhibit C. This offset is double the DMG recommended offset of 30 feet.
11. Lafazge West, Inc. does not intend to install an asphalt plant or concrete batch plant on
site. Additionally, there will be no hazardous waste used on the site.
12. Please see the enclosed Storm Water Management Plan.
LAFARGE NORTH AMERICA INC, -Lafarge Construction Materials
1400 West 64'^ Avenue, Denver, Colorado 80221
Telephone: (303) 657-4000 Facsimile: (303)657-4037
