Permit #M-77-023 Gunnison Ready Mix Pit
'T'his letter, Jim, ~~
...is to let you know we have canpleted corrective action on Item #2
of Inspection Report of 3-12-92. (Topsoil pile protective seeding and
bank errosion protection.)
After consoltation with John Scott of the Soil Conservation Service, we
have applied a mixture of his design consisting ofManchar Smooth Brougham,
Ephriam Crested Wheat, San Luis Slender Wheat and Bozoisky Russian Rye
grasses. We applied approximately 40 pounds of this mixture at a rate of
10 pounds per acre.
Joe Vader, a local contractor who does this type of work applied the seed
and rake/draged it into the soil, which contained enough moisture to hopefully
get it started.
We also placed concrete rip rap along a section of the 'Itlmichi Creek bank
that was starting to errode. This was after conversation with Ken Jacobson
of the Corps of IIlgineer's office in Grand Junction. This was under a General
Permit use which is one cubic yard per linenal foot of bank below high water
~k.
Mr. Scott felt that these measures would well satisify your concerns.
The other item on your report (#3) concerned the stockpiles, which you have
responded to in you letter of April 21, 1992, and we will hold off on this,
but we will proceed with the other portion of modifying the reclamation plan
where the building and office areas are. We are still shooting for a June 10,
1992 response date to you. .
S' i>lc•~relyy~~ n ~1Y~
George ~~g
ROCKY FORD PUEBLO CANON CITY LAMAR CRESTED BUTTE
