As part of the construction process, we pull the shales up from the bottom of the pit
and compact them in the banks [o seal out the ground water.
In our discussions with the State Engineers Office, a sand and gravel well permit is needed when
exposing ground water. We applied for the well permit because we will be exposing ground
water until the reclamation is complete. Once the SEO has certified the reservoir as a water
storage vessel, the well permit will be canceled and water augmentation will no longer be an
issue.
Water storage reservoirs are extremely valuable. We have been approached by the City of
Thorton, Westminster, etc. to purchase the property and reservoir once compieted. A contract
will most likely be signed way before reclamation is completed.
Should you have any additional questions, please contact me at (303) 657-4331.
Sincerely,
ie Goettemoeller
Senior Land Manager
III IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
999
A Redland Group company
