EXHIBIT L - RECLAMATION COSTS
An estimate of the costs involved in the reclamation
process , in 1983 dollars , is as follows :
1. Seed is estimated to cost $26 .60 per acre.
2 . Fertilizer is estimated to cost $14 .75 per acre ,
spread.
3 . Discing with a packer is estimated to cost $7 . 80
per acre .
4. Planting with a drill is estimated to cost $4. 80
per acre .
5 . Backfilling and leveling is estimated to cost
$25 ,000 per acre. (Projected sale and other use
of some of the mined sand will partly alleviate
the cost of backfilling. The Company presently
estimates backfilling at the rate of
approximately 50,000 cubic yards of material per
acre , at a rate of approximately 50C per yard
which would include leveling and incidental
backfilling of steep slopes and other, relrted
earthmoving reclamation activities . )
The mined area will be reclaimed as grazing land for livestock
and wildlife .
