~~~ ~~~
37 E. Colorado Avenue
Denver, CO 80210
(303) 722-9067
Environmental Services • Botanical Studies •
November 27, 1991
Jim Stevens
Mined Land Reclamation
215 Centennial Bldg,
1313 Sherman St
Denver, CO 80203
RE: Application submittal.
Your file no.: M-91-082
Dear Mr. Stevens:
~ III IIIilillliiiiill
999
Photography ~ -
R~~~IVED
NOV 2 7 1991
Mined land
Reclamation Division
The application for Mr. Frank Laughrey's gravel pit located just north
of Florissant is hereby submitted. We hope you will excuse it being a
few days later than we originally indicated. The problems with the
maps, property lines, assessor`s maps, and original plat (developed in
the late 1800's) were quite difficult to resolve in such a manner as to
avoid problems later. Some questions still exist whether certain
originally designated streets have or have not been vacated and if s~~
what that means to Mr. Laughrey's business and property. But any land
that was in question was not included in the permit. If it can later be
shown that the ownership actually does extend another 30 feet in a
certain direction then the permit could be amended, but to be safe we
did not include anything that is clearly questionable. It is really
unfortunate that the ownership lines, assessor's records, and other
information for this whole area of Teller County is so messed up.
Obviously, the application can not be fully processed, publication
completed, and all the other things done by the December 11 meeting.
Therefore, if necessary, a meeting will be requested to update the Board
and, if they wan[, we can present to them the problems we encountered in
simply identifying what land should actually be in the permit. It was
these previously unknown problems that delayed the application
completion. Otherwise it would have been in at least 10 days ago.
Thank you for your consideration.
Respectfully,
~G~
Mark A. Heffner
~~
