C
The Board of County Commissioners of Cheyenne County makes the follow-
ing proposal for a reclamation project to meet the requirements for a
suspension of $3,000.00 of the penalty imposed by the Board.
Site: Town of Cheyenne Wells - former dump site and gravel pit. The
Town and other parties used the site to get fill dirt and gravel
for a number of years. The material was used for the streets in
the Town of Cheyenne Wells. The Town also used the site for a
dump for a number of years until closed because of complaints
from the local residents. The site is located adjacent to the
northeast corner of the Town of Cheyenne Wells.
Reclamation Plan: The County would level the area with heavy equipment
and slope the sides. After leveling the site the County would
haul soil in to cover the site and prepare it to be planted to
grass. The Recreation District has expressed an interest in
securing the site for a park which they would then maintain.
Cost: The Board of County Commissioners estimate the cost of the
project to be $5,000.00 which would be paid fully by the
County.
This project is proposed in that the County is of the opinion that
this project would reclaim an area which could then be put back to a
good use. It is an area adjacent to a populated area which makes this
project much more desirable than any other possible projects and will
provide a benefit to the residents of the Town of Cheyenne Wells.
See attached reclamation plan. ~/~
R.W.
