WITH SPECIAL REVIE4! <br />WHEREAS, a proposal fora coal mining operation on approximately <br />150 acres located approximately 2 miles south of Durango on Ewing Mesa <br />was properly prepared and submitted in accordance with the La Plata <br />County Subdivision Procedures of August, 1980; and, <br />WHEREAS, the planning staff reviewed said submittal and recom- <br />mended tentative approval with conditions; and, <br />41HEREAS, the proposal was reviewed by the La Plata Planning <br />Commission at public meetings on July ]3 and August 10, 1981, at which <br />times testimony from the planning staff, applicant, public and Planning <br />Commissioners was considered. <br />N04t, THEREFORE BE 'IT RESOLVED by the La Plata Planning Commission <br />• that the proposed CAR80N JUNCTION CANYON hIINE is hereby recommended to the <br />Board of County Commissioners for tentative approval subject to the <br />following conditions: <br />1. that the approval is granted for the 150 acres specifically <br />covered by the permit application only and that any expan- <br />sion of the operation outside this permit area will require <br />separate County approval; <br />2. of the 150 acres covered by the permit, open pit (strip) <br />operations shall be limited to not more than fifty (50) <br />acres; <br />3. that the truck haulage from the site shall utilize U.S. 550 <br />south as the route to New Mexico; <br />4. that the scope of the permit shall be restricted to 500,000 <br />tons per year and 1250 tons per day or 50 truck loads per <br />day, whichever is less; <br />f <br />JAN 14 1993 <br />
