(COLOWPO); CDPS NO. CO-00045161
REVISED THIItD QUARTER 2004 DISCHARGE MONTI'ORING REPORTS (DMR)
Dear Ms. Lenkey,
Colowyo is submitting the third quarter discharge monitoring reports to the Water Quality Control Division for calendar
yeaz 2004. Please find the DMR reports attached for your review.
Measurable discharge for the third quarter occurred at outfalls OOIA and 007A. Outfall OOIA discharged continuously
throughout the third quarter.
Field measurements of outflow were taken four times in July, four times in August and five times in September at
outfall 001 A. Outfall 007A discharged for approximately seven days in July. Field measurements of outflow were
taken twice during this period of time. Laboratory samples were taken at outfall 001 A in July (I sample), August (1
sample) and September (1 sample). A single laboratory sample was taken at outfa11007A in July while the pond was
dischazging.
The laboratory sample taken at Outfall 007A on July 22 exceeded the allowances for Total Suspended Solids (114
mglL) and Settleable Solids (3 ml(L*). Results from the laboratory sample taken at Outfall OOIA on August 10,
exceeded the allowance for Total Suspended Solids (230 mg/L). Please see the attached CDPS Exceedance Reports for
more detailed information about these exceedences. Water monitoring forms for these samples are also attached. We
believe that sampling errors were responsible for these exceedences.
Thank you for your consideration. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I can be
reached at (970)824-1532.
Sinc~elyC/%/~~~ -
C.
