A species list for the area of GEC Minerals, Inc. mine
is contained in Exhibit 17.
Wildlife population within the mine plan area currently is quite
low. Factors which contribute to this lack of population is due to
two primary reasons. Initially, extensive disturbance by previous
mining operations and, two, because of lack of water. Likewise,
because of the ephemeral nature of the drainages within the mine
plan area, no fish or other aquatic biota is found within the
permit area or the adjacent areas.
• Threatened and Endangered Wildlife Species. No federally or state
listed threatened or endangered animal species are likely to occur
on the mine plan or adjacent areas. However, the Golden Eagle or
the Peregrine Falcon may rarely pass through the area during migration.
It is expected that GEC Minerals, Inc. mining operation has or will
have little impact on the Peregrine Falcon or the Golden Eagle
found within this area.

2.04-19
