M-86-102 <br />ADEQUACY ITEMS <br />The following items must be addressed by the applicant in order to satisfy the <br />applicable requirements of C,R.S. 34-32-101 et seq. and the Mineral Rules and <br />Regulations of the Mined Land Reclamation Board: <br />Adequacy Questions <br />Exhibit E - Reclamation Plan <br />1, It was noticed by the staff that in photographs of the pit area, sparse <br />vegetation was growing in fines which had sloghed off of the rock rim. <br />If limestone fines are produced as a waste product of this operation, <br />will the operator spread them on the existing pit area and use them as a <br />growth medium? <br />2, Will fertilizer be used to help establish vegetation? The Division <br />recommends some type of organic fertilizer (manure) or di ammonium <br />phosphate (18-46-0) to help aid in grass establishment. <br />3. Wi11 seed be drilled or broadcast? If broadcast, seed rate should be <br />doubled and area should be lightly raked or harrowed following seeding <br />to cover the seed. <br />4, How much straw mulch will be used and how will it be anchored into the <br />soil? The Division recommends 2 tons per acre and crimping to anchor <br />the material into the soil. <br />General <br />1.
