Adequacy Review Responses
Dear Tom:
The following information is being submitted by West Elk Coal
Company in response to the Divisions adequacy review letter of
June 18, 1986. The public notice has been published in the
North Ebrk Times on July 10, 1986. Proof of publication is
being forwazded to the Division under separate Dover. Since
the revision was classified by the Division to be a technical
revision, please change its location of insertion in the M & R
• Plan from Volume 8 to Volume 10. The technical revision will
be labelled Appendix B-12. The following response numbers
correspond to the numbers of the questions in the Divisions
letter:
Item 1: Z'he cross-sections A-A' and B-B' shown on attachment G
do not pass through the emergency spillway, however,
the spillway invert elevation is shown on both cross-
sections for easy reference. Design data and
specifications, including slope and width, for the
emergency spillway can be found in Volume 9, Appendix
B-6, Page 5 of the Mt. Gunnison No. 1 Mine, Mining and
Reclamation Plan. The revised attachment G - Pend
sections submitted May 30, 1986 to the Division had
been subtitled "Sediment Pond MB-5 Bear No. 1 Portal
Area".
Item 2: This information was previously submitted to and
approved by the Division when the Bear No. 1 Portal
Area Sediment Pond (WEC~ No. MB-5) was originally
constructed. This information can be found in Volume
9, Appendix B-6, Mt. Gunnison No. 1 Mine, Mining &
Reclamation Plan.
