The primary objective of this plan is to preclude operations at
Red Canyon Quarry from polluting, contaminating or degrading any
State waters.
2. There shall be no discharge of sanitary waste water within the
permitted area. A portable toilet is provide, during periods of
operation, for use by all employees (Site map).
3. No unauthorized chemicals will be used on the permitted areas.
A list of commonly used chemicals and MSDS is located at tab 4.
Every attempt will be made to prevent spillage of any chemicals.
When a spill occurs all necessary action will be taken to
immediately isolate and contain the spill. These actions might
include, but are not limited to - berm construction, placing sand
or other absorptive material on the spill itself. Clean-up
operations will commence immediately. Please also contact me (Rob
Mangone, 473-3100) as soon as practical. Your report will include:
Any injuries associated with this spill
Date and time of spill
Type of chemical spilled
Description of spill
Actions being taken to contain/clean-up the spill
Equipment or personnel assistance required for clean up
Any other requirements
4. All bulk fuel storage facilities will be above ground and will
have a berm constructed around them of sufficient size so as to
prevent any fuel from escaping from the beamed site and entering
discharge water or waters of the State.
5. All overburden will be stockpiled and if no immediate use is
planned, the overburden will be seeded to prevent erosion.
6. Sediment collection areas will be constructed in sufficient
size so that all projected storm waters will be collected and
contained. Storm water will be controlled throughout the pit so
that it is all directed to the constructed sediment collection
areas.
7. In the unlikely event there is a discharge of storm water from
the sediment collection areas, the discharge will be tested or
evaluated for the presence of non-storm water discharges.
