Carder, Inc.
Regular 112 Permit Application
Ordway Pit Permit #M-2006-054
EXHIBIT E -RECLAMATION PLAN
(a) Description of the type of reclamation, w/ay chosen, acreage accorded to each,
reclamation as related to eartl:moving.
The entire pit area will be reclaimed as rangeland. This is consistent with the pre-mining
land use and most of the land within a few miles of the site.
The earthmoving in reclamation will be relatively simple. Little or no overburden is
involved beyond the topsoil material. It is possible that a small quantity of fines will be
backfilled along the base of the slopes or on the mine floor prior to redistribution of the
topsoil material. The site will be graded and seeded to complete the reclamation.
(b) Comparison of tl:e proposed post mining land use to other land uses in the vicinity
And to adopted state and local land use plans and programs.
As stated above, rangeland is the applicant and Lessors' choice for reclamation. There are
no enacted land use programs in the area that would affect this operation.
(c) Description of how the reclamation plan will be implemented to meet applicable
requirements.
All applicable requirements for reclamation will be followed and are outlined within the
reclamation plan.
(d) Plans for topsoil segregation, preservation, and replacement; for stabilization,
compaction, and grading.
All the topsoil and any overburden will be stockpiled. The stockpiled materials will be ~-`
compacted to prevent erosion. If stockpiles are left for more than one growing season a
growth medium will be planted to prevent any further erosion"that might occurfrom the _
elements.
~_
(e) Sc/tedule indicating how reclamation will be implemented.
It is anticipated that within the next couple of years when the deposits are depleted from the
pit reclamation will begin with the final grading. The side slopes will be graded to 3:1 or
flatter in the course of mining. Many of the surrounding rangeland slopes are much steeper
and with good grazing practices will do well. As soon as final grading and backsloping are
complete the final seeding will be done. Of course it is hard to determine the exact time the
reclamation will commence. The availabilty of material will be the deciding factor as to
when reclamation will begin. The area will be mined in 20 acre phases for approximately 4
year period. We will continue to mine until material is depleted and the area will be
reclaimed in approximately the 5`h year.
