Carder, Inc.
Regular 172 Permit Appllcatlon
Ordway Pit
EXHIBIT D-MINING PLAN
(a) Method of Mining
The topsoil will be removed with scrapers/dozers and stored along the northern
border of the permit area. Mining of the aggregate deposit will be done by front-
end loaders. Material will be processed and removed from the site by haul trucks.
Access to the pit will be via County Road B as part of the condition for approval for
a Special Use Permit with Crowley County.
(b) Eart/:moving
Earthmoving is proposed to be done primarily with front-end loaders and/or
scrapers and dozers.
(c) Water Diversions and Impoundments
This site will be strictly a dry pit operation with no water diversion andlor
impoundments. Carder, Inc. will use berms and silt fences to contain normal
overland flows from the disturbed areas to prevent off-site damage and minimize
damage to the hydrologic balances with respect to normal surface water run-off
resulting from precipitation events. The berms will be earthen berms and will be
constructed as needed along the south boundary of the pit. There is no evidence that
water erosion will be a problem. There is damage history or evidence on the - --
cropland. The water diversions structures located on site are not functional at this
time. The land owner would like these removed during the course of mining. The
five ephemeral watercourses in the draws will not be distnrbed as to~disruptavater_ _ _
from entering the site. However, we will mine through these areas abd=all water
runoff will be retained. `-~' ~--
(d) Size of Area to be Worked
This size of area to be worked at one time is approximately 20 acres. The area will
be mined from east to west in 20 acre phases. There will be approximately 20 acres
phases every 4 years with reclamation taking place in the 5~h year.
