As we discussed, the discharge
point is.in actuality, a dozer basin in the middle of Vulcan Ditch,
an irrigation channel and as such has no mine-related activity.
The discharge point was originally drawn up in the mine operations
plan but has since been dropped from this consideration. The
Vulcan Ditch receives its water from a tributary north of the
Colorado River which is then pumped under the river to the mine
site for irrigation on the south side of the Colorado river and its
adjacent terraces.
Since the mine is not active nor has been in the past, the NPDES
point 002A is non-relevant to further monitoring. It was suggested
by our Division to discontinue this site from further inspection
criteria and Mr. Peter Matthies has obliged us to do just that.
Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
Sincerely,
~ ..
