VanSlyke, Supervising Geologist <br />Division o1 Water Resources <br />SUBJECT: Peck Inc., Peck Pit, File No. M-92-049 <br />Section 2, T44N, RBW, New Mexico PM <br />Water Division 4, Water District 69 <br />4)e have reviewed the above referenced application per your request <br />of April 24, 1992. The application is to conduct surface mining of <br />gravel and to reclaim the area as wildlife habitat on 8 acres. <br />Although mining will occur ner,t to the Uncompahgre River, it will <br />take palace only at low flow periods and will not intercept the <br />ground water table. There will be no water use associated with the <br />operation. Due to this, we have no objection to approval of this <br />application. <br />We would li4:e to point out that should the operation er,pose ground <br />mater to the atmosphere, the operator must obtain a well permit <br />from this office and may be required to obtain approval ofi a water <br />supply plan prior to beginning mining. <br />Should you have any additional questions, please contact this <br />office. <br />cc: h;eith Kepler.
