During the 2"d quarter
the Sanbom Creek mine underwent dismantling, removal and relocation of mining equipment to
the Elk Creek mine and prepazation for closure and abandonment. Discharge point 011 was
discharging and sampled on 4/21/03 and 4/29/03. The quarterly WET sample was scheduled to be
obtained during May. On or about May 21, 2003 the underground pumps and pipeline associated
with Discharge point 011 were dismantled and brought to the surface. Effectively, Discharge
point 011 became terminated as of May 21, 2003. For [his reason, we were unable to obtain the
quarterly WET sample.
There were no other issues or exceedances noted during the 2nd quarter of 2003.
Finally, OMLLC previously filed an application on May 16, 2001 for renewal of the CDPS permit. Since
the permit renewal application currently remains under review, during 2002 we requested and subsequently
received a supply of additional DMR forms. With the submittal of this 2"d quarter DMR the Division
should be aware that our present supply of DMR forms is now exhausted. Please provide us with
additional DMR forms.
If you have any questions or comments, please contact me at (970) 929-SS06.
Sincerely,
~mes A.
