~ i <br />After the sand and gravel has been removed the slopes on the <br />outside perimeter of the pit xill be flattened to a 2:1 slope. <br />P. dike between the Colorado River and the proposed pit area <br />will be left in place with a minimum width of 50 feet. All <br />existing trash, brush piles etc. will be disposed of. ~Ipon <br />completion of the pit reclamation we will cease our dewatering <br />operation and allow the water table to return to its natural <br />elevation. <br />At the present time various projects are in the design stage <br />which xill require sand and gravel products from the vicinity <br />of this proposed pit. We feel that conservation of sand and <br />gravel in Mesa County is very important and, that it is in <br />the best interest to re-open this abandoned pit area and <br />remove the sand and gravel which remains. Also, by controlled <br />reclamation as set forth the general area will benefit. <br />(7ur present plans are to compete operations within this area <br />during the next four years.
