Dear Mr. Williams: EXHIBIT "D" - A r• In resncnse to your request for a wildlife evaluation of the Harvey Greene gravel p•it (SE4 SW# Sec. 21} TfiN R56W) Por reclamation purposes, 1 have prepared. the following report. This arena now supports populations of small game animals including pheasant;, cottontail rabbit, and mourning dove Big game animals are not plentiful on the sit) itself, but antelope (pronghorns) and mule deer arc) present in the local area around the pit site, Non-game wildlife) in the area include seasonal populations of song birds, raptors including various species of hawks and an occasional golden eagle. Coyotes, badgers„ skunks, Jackrabbits, and other species of small rodents also inhabit; the local area. Perhaps the bast reclamation plan as concerning wildlife on this area would be to revegetate the area with some tall grasses such as a mixture of tall ti~heat grass and alfalfa with soma plantings of shrubs such as wild plum mixed in. Ar~p water allowed to remain in the pit site would also be beneficial for wildlife. Any meaningful reclamation work be~zeficial to wildlife would reguire exclusion of grazing from the site.
