~~i iiiiii~f~iia iii' •
999
EXHIBIT L. - RECLAMATIOPI COSTS
The attached Table L was used to approximate the inaxiinum reclamation costs
at any one time,
The following planting cost estimates are taken from the Soil Conservation
Service yuides, which are based on accumulative data for project bid work.
(All costs per acre).
Major Moderate Minor
Ea r~thwo rk
(Final Eank Sfraping & Scarifying) 400 150 75
Topsoil (Haul, Place & Spread) 520 175 100
Seedbed Preparation 100 75 50
Fertilizer 50 50 50
Seed & Planting 100 75 75
Mulch 100 100 100
' Trees & Bushes 200 200 200
1470 825 X650
A maximum of 15.0 Acres (10.0 Acres in the Major Dis turbance and 5.0 Acres
in the Moderate disturbance category ) was used foe the extractio n area at
any one tune. This seems reasonable as the average annual area to be mined
is shout 9.0 Acres. The maximum bond amount is base d on the fol lowing:
Major Disturbance 10.0 Acres X 1470 = 14,700
Moderate Disturbance 23.0 Acres X 825 = 18,975
(Plant @ 17.5 & Roads @ 5.5 ±)
Minor Disturbance 9.0 Acres X 650 = 5,850
39,525
Say..... .$40,000.00
Table L. Shows that the maximum bond amount would be fairly cons istent for
the operational years.
If available "windbreak" trees and other seedlings from the Soil Conserva-
tion Service will be used to assist in the proposed reclamation plantings.
REVISED: 9-16-83
L-1
