- <br />B-20 3620 <br />w MIIiERAL REPORT <br />.' <br />• for <br />FREE USE PERMIT <br />COLD SPRINGS MOUNTAIN, COLORADO <br />CONCLUSIONS: <br />(1) The subject land is mineral in character. <br />(2) The granting of the subject application will not interfere <br />unreasonably with potential operations under the mineral <br />leasing laws. <br />~ (3) There are no known valuable locatable mineral deposits or <br />• mining claims on the subject land. <br />(4) There are substantial quantities of gravel within the subject <br />area. <br />(5) Issuance of the permit and removal of the gravel deposit <br />, would be a public service to improve the county roads in the <br />area. <br />RECO1~~fEN DATI ON S <br />(1) The Free Use Permit should be issued. <br />(2) Provisions for timely reclamation and protection of the en- <br />i vironment should be included in the Special Conditions of <br />I the Free Use Permit. <br />I <br />The following report is the result of a technical review and field ex- <br />amination of geologic and mineral data pertaining to the application <br />area. - It should not be construed as a complete engineering report for <br />~i appraisal purposes or any purpose other than that for which it was written. <br />I. BACKGROUND <br />This report applies to the Moffat County Road Department Free Use Permit <br />application, as shown on the attached map. <br />Physical Setting: <br />The subject area is about 17'~ miles north-northwest of Greystone, 11 miles <br />southwest of Hiawatha, Colorado, and 4 miles north of the upper end of <br />Irish Canyon. Tl~e site is on a gravelly terrace remnant, elevation 7200 <br />to 7280 feet, on the east flank of Limestone Ridge, off Cold Springs Mountain. <br />II.
