In conclusion, there are obvious Flaws in the reclamation plan for [he propose Line Camp Pit. These
Flaws do not appear to represent insignificant shortfalls in professional expertise, but rather appear as a
deliberate attempt to deceive. How can you otherwise interpret references to uses of an "existing" access
road and an "existing" pipeline that do not exist. How can the permittee totally ignore the fact that the
project area is within the range of the largest native herbivore in the Rocky Mountain region and that the
Dolores River valley constitutes a vital spring range for these animals? In addition [o these false
statements, provisions for weed control, dewatering, storm overflow, soil amendments, revege[ation, and
reclamation costs are inadequately addressed.
We hope that you will consider these comments and urge you to field truth the allegations that have been
made. We are available for consultation if necessary.
Sincerely,
Leslie M. ester
Timothy D. Hovezak
Dolores River valley residents
-9-
