1 <br />EXHIBIT D <br />' Geology <br />Stocks Clay Mine is located in Dakota sandstone of lower Cretaceous <br />age. The commodity of interest is a seam of light gray, carbonaceous <br />clay, about 5 feet thick, underlying a cap rock of sandstone about 6 <br />feet thick, which is exposed at the ground surface. The Dakota sand- <br />' stone has been warped upward to the north here on the north side of <br />the Canon City embayment by the uplift of the Front Range during the <br />' Laramide orogeny 65 million years ag~~.
