The required fee of $217 for the renewal of this substitute
supply plan has been submitted. The original supply plan was approved on January 27, 1998.
The original supply plan accounted for 6.93 acre-feet per year to be used for dust
suppression and anywhere from 27.82 to 33.88 acre-feet per year of water lost in mining
product. The proposed supply plan is to continue to replace depletions to the pit caused by the
removal of wafer in the mining product and water used for dust suppression. The plan
estimates that 27.2 acre-feet per year will be lost in mining product and 4.0 acre-feet per year
will be lost in dust suppression. The plan also replaces depletions caused by the pumping of
well permit no. 19808-R. The water from this well is used for concrete production at the site
and the total use will be 12.8 acre-feet per year. Well permit no. 19808-R is permitted and
decreed for irrigation.
The exposed surface area at the site is 18.3 acres. The Howe Pit had 26.6 acres that
were exposed prior to 1981. Since the pre-1981 acreage at the site exceeds the current
exposed acreage, no evaporative losses require augmentation.
The source of replacement water is 25 Fulton Ditch shares, which were historically used
on the site, during the summer. Winter replacements will be supplied from a lease of reusable
effluent from the City of Greeley in the amount of 19.7 acre-feet. The 25 shares of Fulton Ditch
water represent 97.5 acre-feet of water available at the headgate. Conveyance losses and
consumptive use of ten percent and 50 percent respectively are determined in Water Court
Case No. 82CW393.
A monthly breakdown of depletions and replacements is shown in the attached Table
No. 4 that was submitted with your report.
I hereby approve this substitute water supply plan, in accordance with Section 37-80-
120, C.R.S., (1991), subject to the following conditions'
'
;fi
,~
:a.
i~ ~,
~' Y:' Y
~ ..
:;::z a
1K•
~;(
~:
~~
."y
:;,.
$~ .
.a
H~
,u~
