The pond is visited during NPDES sampling and the v-notch weir is inspected to detemune if it is functioning
correctly. Repairs are made on an as-needed basis. The pond is inspected quarterly to determine if it is functioning
• correctly. Repairs aze made on an as-needed basis. The pond is inspected quarterly to determine the condition of
its embankment and spillways. Repairs aze made as-needed.
The pond will be removed when it is no longer needed. The outlet works will be removed and the embanlattent
graded back into the pond excavation. The azea will be final graded so that it blends with surrounding area. The
area will be topsoiled and seeded.
Pond F receives runoff from the surface facilities, reclaimed surface mine, spoil springs, and underground mine
discharge. TCC will survey the pond as per the schedule given above. The same criteria given above will be used
to detemune if the pond requrres cleaning. If so, the material will be removed and hauled to the refuse pile or pit
for disposal.
The pond is visited during the periodic NPDES sampling, and the condition of the measuring device is noted.
Repairs are made on an as-needed basis. The current measuring device is a cutthroat flume located upstream of the
road culvert. Problems were encountered with the existing weir and the weir was replaced with the 12inch
cutthroat flume to assure accurate flow measurement.
The pond will be removed when it is no longer needed. The embanlanent will be graded in and the outlet works
removed. The stone in the spillway will either be reclaimed or placed in the pond excavation as part of the backfill.
The area will be graded to blend with the surrounding topography, then topsoiled and seeded.
In reference to Pond G, it receives runoff from a part of the surface facilities and the reclaimed surface mine. TCC
will survey the pond as per the above schedule. The same criteria given above will be used to determine if the pond
requires cleaning. The cells
location and cross-sections are shown on Maps 26 and 32, Fish Creek Borehole Area Facilities, and Access Road,
and Fish Creek Settling Pond Plan View and Cross Sections. The design for the culverts for the Fish Creek
Borehole Access Road is presented in Exhibit 8R.
The facility will consist of two adjacent dewatering wells, three treatment cells, chemical feed stations (sodium
• hydroxide and sulfuric acid), substation, access road and powerlines. The facility was modified in 2006 to replace
the sodium hydroxide treatment system with an electro-coagulation unit. The water supply pumps aze set within
TR06-52 2.05-76.2 05/16/06
