SPECIMEN LABEL ~ UPDATES AVAILABLE AT WW\X'.GREENBOOK.NET 3
• Naule Type-Use a nozzle type that is designed for the intended applicadon
With most noule types, narcowerspmy angles produce lazger droplets. Conside[
using )ow-drift nozzles. Solid stream nozzles oriented straight back produce
the largest droplets and the lowest drift.
oom Length: For some use patterns, reducing the effective boom length m less
than $ of the wingspan or rotor length may further reduce drifr without reducing
swath width.
Application Height: Applications should not be made at a height greater than
(0 fact above the top of the largess plants unless a greater height is required
for aimmft safety. Making applications at the lowest height that is safe reduces
exposure of droplets to evapomdon and wind.
Swath Adjustment: When applications are made with a crosswind, the swath
will be displaced downward. Themfore, on the up and downwind edges of the
field, the applicator must compensate for this displacement by adjusting the path
ofihe avcmfi upwind. Swath adjustment distance should increase, with increasing
drift potential (higher wind, smaller drops, etc.)
Wind: Drift potential is lowest between wind speeds of 2-10 mph, However,
many facmm, including droplet size and equipment type deternine drift potential
at any given spetd. Application should be avoided below 2 mph due m variable
wind direction and high inversion po[rnrial. NOTE: Local mrmin can influence
wind patterns. Every applicamr should be familiaz with local wind panems and
how they affect spray drill.
Temperature And Humidity: When making applications in low relative humid-
ity, tit up equipmrnt to produce larger droplets to compensate for evaporation.
Droplet evaporation is most severe when conditions are both hot and dry,
Temperature Inversions: Applications should not occur during a local, low
level temperature inversion because drift potential is high. Tempemmre inversions
restrict vertical av mizing, which causes small suspended dropters to remain in
a concentrated cloud. This cloud can move in unpredictable directions due m
the light variable winds common during inversions. 7empemmrc inversions are
characterized by increasing tem~emtures with altitude and am common oa nights
with limited cloud cover and hghc to no wind. They begin m font as [he sun
sets and often continue into the morning. Their presence can be indicted by
ground fog; however, if fog is not present inversions can also be identified by
the movement of the smoke from a ground source or an aircraft smoke generator,
Smoke that layers and moves Iatemlly in a concentrted cloud (under (ow wind
conditions) indicates an inversion, while smoke that moves upward and rapidly
dissipates indicates good vertical air mixing.
Sensitive Areas: The pesticide should only tit applied when the potential for
drift to adjacent sensitive areas (e.g. residential areas, bodies of water, known
~abitat for threatened or endangered species, won-target crops) is minimal (e.g.
hen wind is blowing away from the sensitive areas).
Riizing Dvecdous
Water D'dution-To prepare a water dilution of Redeem R&P:
]. Add any surfacmnss, crop oils, or other adjuvants according to manufacturer's '
1a6e1.
4. Add any spray thickening agent, if needed to control drift, according to the
rnanufacmrer's Zabel.
5. Agitate during final filling of [he spray lank and maintain sufficient agitation
during applicadon to ensure uniformity of d[e spiny mizmre.
Note: Allow time for thorough mixing of each spiny ingredient before adding the
next If allowed to stand afar mixing, agitate spiny mixttnc before use.
Application Directions- '
Application Timing
Apply to actively growing weeds. Extreme growing conditions such as drought or
cold tempemmres prior m, at or following application may reduce or delay weed
control. Only weeds which are emerged at the time of application will be con-
trolled. Wct foliage at [he time of application may decrease control. Applications
of this product are min-fast within 2 hours after application.
Application Rates
Generally, application rotes at the lower end of the recommended rate range will
be satsfactory for young, succulent growth of sensitive weed species. For less
sensitive species, perennials, and under conditions where control is morc difficult
(plant stress conditions such as drought or extreme ampemmres, dense weed
stands and/or larger weeds) the higher rotes within the rote range will be needed.
Weeds growing in the absence of grass competirion genemtly require higher rates
to obtain satisfactory control or suppression.
Use o(Surtactants '
A non-ionic surfactant cleared for use on growing crops s[ the manufacturer's
recommended rate is recommended for all npplicadons of this product. Use a
higher recommended rote of surfacmnt in the spiny mixture when applying lower
spray volumes per acre.
Coverage
~ppfy in 3 or more Ba]]ons per acre by air or ] 0 or wort gallons per acre by
mood equipment. Use sufficient spiny volume to provide thorough coverage and
uniform spray paturn. Inadequate spiny volume and covemg< may result in
decreased weed control. As vegemdve canopy and weed density inuease, spiny
vohune should be increased to obtain equivalent weed control. Use larger nozzle
tips or decrease spraying speed to increase spiny volume miher titan increasing
boom pressure. Refer to manufacturer's recommendations for information on
relationships between spray volume, and norile size and artaneement.
Database and format copyright ©by C&P Press. Care should be taken [o apply the spiny uniformly and at a rote
equivalent m a broadcast application. Application mks in the table are based on
an area of 1,000 sq ft. Mix the amount of [his product (fl oz or ml) corresponding
to the desired broadcast rate in one ar morc gallons of spiny.
