Hayden Gulch Terminal, Inc. * Hayden Gulch Mine Weed Management Plan
6. All treated areas will be re-seeded with the approved seed mix to re-establish a
competitive and beneficial plant community. See Attachment H-1, Reclamation Seed
Mixture for the seed mixture for reseeding treated areas.
Chemical Control Measures
Weed species will be monitored and controlled as follows according to the label instructions of
each herbicide.
1. Where chemical control is used, the pesticide label will determine the timing and rate of
herbicide application.
2. All precautions and label instructions will be followed dwing the application of the
herbicide.
3. After chemical application and before moving to a new location the equipment used in
the process will be cleaned to prevent accidental transport of weed seeds or plant parts.
4. Al] personnel will be trained in the use of the herbicides utilized and the safe operation of
equipment. All personnel will be trained in the identification of target species and non-
target species.
5. No application of chemical control will be conducted when wind drift could potentially
happen.
6. Herbicides will be applied during the time of day when the plants are most susceptible to
herbicide uptake.
7. Herbicides will be applied when the temperature and humidity are optimum for plant
uptake.
8. Chemical control will be sequenced during the appropriate time in the life cycle of the
plant for optimum control.
9. Chemical control will be used in conjunction with mechanical and biological control
wherever possible.
Chemicals for Possible Use on HGTI Property
Arsenal Banvel
Escort Garlon 4
IUenite Landmark
Plateau Redeem
Roundup T'elaz
Tordon Transline
Wedone: 2,4-D Activator 90
Clean Crop Low Vol 6; 2,4-D
Label, or manufacturers, guidelines are presented in Attachment H-2, Chemical Labels.
