DO NOT allow treated soil to wash or move into untreated
a[ca.
~OLERANCE OF TREES AND BRUSH TO PLATEAU HERBICIDE
c following tolerance information is provided as a general guideline when it is
desirable or necessary to make PLATEAU httbicide applications in and around
desirable tree and brash species. DO NOT use PLATEAU herbicide on nursery,
orchard, omamenta] planMgs, new plantings, seedling trtts or fiber farms except
' as specified on supplemental labeling. It is suggested that PLATEAU herbicide be
hied on a limited basis to determine tolerance in your area. PLATEAU herbicide
may be used at rotes up to 12 oz per acre for weed connol~in and around
established trees on pasture, rangeland (see "GUIDELINES FOR RANGELAND
USE" sectidn) and noncropland areas such as roadsides, prairies and similar areas
used far wildlifr cover, erosion conbol, wind brooks, etc. Troe and brush species
known to have acceptable tolerance to PLATEAU herbicide when applied under
the canopy and/or m the foliage are listed below, Tolerance is based upon trees
with a minimum of 2 inch DBH. Applicahon [o tree and~bmsh species that are
under stress due to drought disease, insect damage err other factors may be more
susceptible [o injury from PLATEAU herbicide and may result in severe injury
or dca$, Somc specie may exhibit tip chlorosis and minor necrosis. Foliaz
contact may increase injury to include defoliation and terminal death. Application
methods That minimize fo]iar contact with desirable nee and brash species can
improve mleruicc,
When making fall applications of PLATEAU herbicide, potential injury to bee
and brush species from foliar contact maybe minimized by making the application
after the leaves have begun to senesce (fall color) or after leafdrop. Conifer species
are generally tolerant to fail applications. PLATEAU herbicide applications in
and around nee and brash specres should be made at the recommended timing
for the mrget weed species.
Brush and Tree Species Tolerance to PLATEAU herbicide et 12 oz per Acre'
Tolerance by
Application Methodr
DirMed
Commov Neme Genva Species Below Folinge To Folinge
Apple (Vac Wirrcsay)r Af let syfvertrir Y<s NR
Ash, Bluc Frarinue quadmngvlara Yes NR
Ash, Grern Fraxinw pennryhmniw Yes No
Azalea Rhododendron spp. No No
Basswood Tilia hetrophy(la No No
Boxeld<i Ater negundo Yes Injurys
Buckeye, Ohio Aescu(us g(abra Yes NR
CWar-juniper, Wutem 7huja plim+a ~ Yes Yes
Cherty, Hlacks Prunes sev+im No No
Cherry, Choke Prunes vmginiana No No
Cherry, Swmts Prvnus avFum Yes NR
Conovwood Populus defroides Yu hriurys
Cononwood, nanow leaf Popv(us spp. Yes Injusys
Dogwood, Flowetivg Carnes app. Yes Yes
Dogwood, Grry Comer rocemasa Yes Injurys
Dogwood, Red Trig Comer spp. Ya Yes
Douglas Fv P.reudotrugq menzietii Yes Yes
Elm, American U(mut Americana Yes Yes
Elm, Siippery U(mur rvbra Yrs Yes
Gooseberry Riber spp. Yes Njurys
Hackbeiry Celtic ottidenmlts Yes Yes
~Hawthom Cra+aegus spp. Yes Injurys
Juniper, Chinese luniperm chinensis Yes Yes
Juniper, Wes[cm Junipervs Asreatpermo Yes Yu
Lilac Syringe spp. No No
Linden, American Tilia am¢ricgna No No
Locus4 Black Robiniapseudoacacia Yes Ye9
Lows; Honey Gledi+sia triacan+has Yes Yes
Maple, Red Acer rvbrum Ycs Ycs
_ Maple, Sugar Acer rarrharum Yes Yes
Mulberry, Red Mona rubnz Yea NR
Mulberry, White Mares albs Yes NR
Oak, Black Quercvs vefutino Yea NR
Oak Liv< Quercvs virginiona Yea Ycs
Data use and format copyright ~ by fiance ommumcation Corp.
Tolerance by
Application Methadr

Commov Name
Oak, Sourhem Red
Gevus Species
Quenvs falmm Directed
Below Foliage
Yes
To Foliage
NR
Oak Whire Quereus afba Yes NR
OBv<, Russian Elaeggnus angusdjofio Yes No
Osage Orange - Mac(ura pom faro Yes NR
Peach (Var.
