~OLERANCE OF TREES AND BRUSH TO PLATEAU HERBICIDE
c following tolerance information is provided as a general guideline when it is
desirable or necessary to make PLATEAU httbicide applications in and around
desirable tree and brash species. DO NOT use PLATEAU herbicide on nursery,
orchard, omamenta] planMgs, new plantings, seedling trtts or fiber farms except
' as specified on supplemental labeling. It is suggested that PLATEAU herbicide be
hied on a limited basis to determine tolerance in your area. PLATEAU herbicide
may be used at rotes up to 12 oz per acre for weed connol~in and around
established trees on pasture, rangeland (see "GUIDELINES FOR RANGELAND
USE" sectidn) and noncropland areas such as roadsides, prairies and similar areas
used far wildlifr cover, erosion conbol, wind brooks, etc. Troe and brush species
known to have acceptable tolerance to PLATEAU herbicide when applied under
the canopy and/or m the foliage are listed below, Tolerance is based upon trees
with a minimum of 2 inch DBH. Applicahon [o tree and~bmsh species that are
under stress due to drought disease, insect damage err other factors may be more
susceptible [o injury from PLATEAU herbicide and may result in severe injury
or dca$, Somc specie may exhibit tip chlorosis and minor necrosis. Foliaz
contact may increase injury to include defoliation and terminal death. Application
methods That minimize fo]iar contact with desirable nee and brash species can
improve mleruicc,
When making fall applications of PLATEAU herbicide, potential injury to bee
and brush species from foliar contact maybe minimized by making the application
after the leaves have begun to senesce (fall color) or after leafdrop. Conifer species
are generally tolerant to fail applications. PLATEAU herbicide applications in
and around nee and brash specres should be made at the recommended timing
for the mrget weed species.
