This revision addresses the proposed access rouue for gravel haul traffic. Recent meetings with county
' officials indicate that a ro-mute of Baptist Road away from the Ikllacroce residence is now feasible.
The applicant proposes two altemarive access routes that will facilitate gravel haul operations in the
event that:
' 1) Baptist Road Re-route is constmcted by the County prior to or concurrent with
commencemem of gravel haul operations or
' 2) Baptist Road re-route is not wnsmrcted.
' The two alternatives ate discussed in detail below and depicted on the attached Exhibi[ A.
' Alternate #1 Baptis[ Road Re-Route will corroect the existing east-west portion of Baptist Road (60'
R-O-W) at some point east of the Mitchell Road intersection, continuing in a
southwesterly mute m the existing curve in Baptist Road (18' R-O-W) neaz Hay
' Creek. Because final road alignments have not been finalized by the county and the
land owner, location of this re-route is gene~tt~~ Once consttttction is complete,
public traffic would utilize the stew re-route, and the unused portions of Baptist Road
' (18' R-O-W and 60' R-O-W) could be vacated to the land owner for privaze use.
Gravel haul traffic would then exit the pit area using the existing pit access road and
proceed north on the vacated portions of the 18' R-O-W. A curved fillet will be
constructed az the berm near the residence to facilitate rums. Haul traffic would then
cotrdttue east on the vacated 60' R-O-W portion and rejoin the public R-O-W east of
Mitchell Road.
' The portion of Baptist Road designated as Altletnaze #1 haul route is currently
maintained by County petsortoeL All drainage impmvemems including a 60" culvert
at Beaver Creek are in place. With the exception of the proposed curve fillet az the
' bend, this proposed route will not requite any cotrstmcdon work by the applicant. The
existing gravel base will be adequate [o serve the applicazus' haul requirements.
Sigoage and gates will be placed az both ends of the vacated portions. Alternate #1
' will keep haul [rocks separate from public motorists until they are merged on the 60'
ROW east of Mitchell Road.
' After gravel operations have been completed, the applicant will reclaim the Alternate
#1 Route as a privaze ranch service road. For permitting purpose the area of
reclamation is calculazed m be 1.3 acres (18' X 1200' and 60' X 600').
Alternate #2 This option involves constnrction of a 30' private access road extending from the tee
intersection of the existing pi[ access road with Baptist Road (18' R-O-W) extending
' in a northeasteriy direction, crossing Beaver Creek and imetsecting Baptst Road
(60' R-O-W) az the Mitchell Road imetsection. Haul truck traffic from the pit will be
required to stop az both intersections with the 18' and ti0' R-O-W yielding to public
' traffic on Baptist Road. Appropriate signage and locking gates will be installed
Alternate #2 will be utilized only if the Baptist Road re-mute is not approved or not
completed in time for gravel haul operation. The applicant proposes to reclaim
' alternate #2 haul mute (30' X 1600') 1.1 acres as a private ranch service road
1
