' G. No installation of utility or phone services is needed. Communications within and without
the mining operation shall be by two-way radio ro the office of the operator. This will provide
access to a phone for regtrired emergency services. An altemaiive mesas of contacting
emergency services is by phone located at the Dellacroce Ranch residence shown on the aerial
phomgraph. The following emergency services are available for the pit operations:
' II Paso County Sheriff (719) 390-5555 or 911
Emergency Medical 911
Fire Deparmtent 911 (WOOdmoor-Monument FPD)
H. Security improvements will consist of a 3 strand barbed win: fence along the site
' boundary, locking mechanical gates and cattle guards at the intersection of the access road
with Baptist Road. All gates will be maintained and secured by the operator and opened only
during normal work hours when haul trucks are anticipated. The permitted area will be posted
' with signs indicating pit owner information according [o mined land reclamation nrles and
regulations.
Additional signage will be posted by the county at the road intersection points advising
' motorist of trucks entering Baptist Road.
' I. Major equipment will consist of a dozer, front end loader and screening plant for the actual
mining operations. Haul traffic will consist of tandem trucks (10 - 12 yard loads) or semi
trailers (20 yazd loads). Temporary scales will be installed along the southeast side of the pit
' access road in the flatter areas at the northwest comer of the sedimentation pond. This will
allow haul trucks convenient access to the scales while confining equipment and operations to
the secured permiued areas. Haul traffic will operate according to applicable state and local
' regulations.
The screening plant is a portable (towed) conveyor belt system that accepts excavated material
through a hopper bin, lifts the material to the upper vibratory screen which separates course
' material from fine material. Graded material gradation is dropped directly ro the ground for
stock piling and later transferred to the haul rocks by the front end loader. The vibrating
screens are equipped with water spray jets to minimize dust accumulation. A single 30 HP
' diesel engine plant drives the conveyor belts and the vibratory screens. Typical overall
dimensions of the operating plant are 8ft wide by 54 feet long by 18 feet high. The dozer,
loader and screen plant will be located only in the pit area (in the current mining phase) and
' are expected to be moved within the pit area to facilitate excavation and stuck piling
operations. The dozer is a 75 HP diesel engine of the mid-size (D-7) range and will be used
intermittently, during each mining phase, to facilitate final contouring and shaping and
stockpile manipulation The loader is a diesel engine (typical 5 cubic yard bucket) and is the
primary excavation and loading equipment. The scales aze skid mounted, approximately 9
feet wide by 60 feet long and 2 feet high, and will remain in place during the life of the pit
A 10' by 10' skid mounted, prefabricated scales office will be located at the scales. This
' office will house the mechanical indicator for the scale readings and serve as the on-site office
for haul and weight ticketing.
Diesel fuel for the dozer
loader and screenin
lant will be trans
orted to the site dail
or as
,
g, p
p
y
' P-6
1
