SHORT-TERtt COAL LEASE APPLICATION C-27103 <br />Should this lease application be approved, adverse impacts vrould be <br />limited to those caused by construction of an access road and vent shaft <br />.and perhaps, some subsidence since the cngoing mining t:~ould continue with <br />or ~,~ithout the short-term lease. <br />The access road/vent shaft ~•,ould remove 1.5 acres from ve4etative <br />productivity as pinyon-juniper :~rildiife habitat until it is reclai~:~d. <br />An additional 0.3 ecre could be disturbed by relocation of tl~e power/ <br />telephone line depending upon the final location selected for the vent <br />shaft. These constructicn activities could disturb vri',dlife temporarily <br />and vrould temporarily increase fugitive dust slightly. Erosion cff of <br />construction areas lrould increase slightly.
