No new outfalls were constructed during the three quarters
reviewed. The mine has ceased mining activities and is in the process of reclaiming all
areas that report to sediment treatment ponds at the site. Submittal of the reports
satisfies the requirement of Rule 4.05.13(2)(a)(iii)(A). File review indicates no response
to previous DMG review letters. Please respond to previous review letters from the
DMG.
No discharge was reported during the 1St or 2"d quarters of 2004, which is consistent
with DMG field inspection. Discharge was reported in the 3rd quarter from multiple
outfalls. Rain gauge data indicates the site experienced two storm events within a 24-
hour period that when combined, exceeded the 100-year, 24-hour storm of 4.20 inches.
Please report the date and time that the pond outtalls visited and when pond effluent
samples were taken subsequent to the end of the storm event(s).
We have no further questions at this time. Please respond as necessary within thirty
(30} days of receipt of this letter. Thank you for your diligence in pursuing your
monitoring and reporting as required.
Sint ely,
K A.
