Walker <br />subject: Review of Is` Quarter 2003 DMR, C-81-019 <br />date: July 23, 2003 <br />re: Colowyo letter to CDPHE, April 21, 2003, Re: Colowyo Coal Company, L.P. <br />(Colowyo); CDPS NO. CO-00045161; First Quarter 2003 DMR <br />The 1 s' Quarter 2003 DMR reports were reviewed <br />Outfa11001 A (Streeter Pond). This pond was reported as having discharged. Parameters are reported <br />as within allowable primary limits. The 30-day average flow was reported as 0.129 million <br />gallons/day (mgd). The pond was discharging 0.045 mgd during the February 18 inspection and <br />0.078 mgd during the March 26, 2003 inspections by the Division. <br />Outfall 002A (Facilities Area Pond). This pond was reported as having discharged in March. <br />Parameters are reported as within allowable primary limits. The 30-day average flow was reported as <br />0.052 mgd. There was a discharge from this pond of 0.019 mgd on March 26, and no discharge on <br />February 18 CDMG inspections. <br />Outfa11003A (Loadout Pond). This pond was reported as not having discharged. However, there was <br />a 0.03 cfs discharge at the time of the March 26, 2003 CDMG inspection. <br />Outfa11004A (Gulch A Pond). This pond was reported as having discharged. The Total Suspended <br />Solids 30-day average was 40 ml/l, 5 over the CDPS permit. This would have been a single sample <br />as there was only discharge in March. There was a trickle discharge at this pond at the time of the <br />March 26, 2003 CDMG inspection. <br />Outfa11005A (Stoker Coal Pond). This pond was reported as having no discharge. The level of this <br />pond was at the lower weep hole at the time of the March 26, 2003 CDMG inspection. <br />Outfa11006A (Rail Loop Pond). The pond was reported as having no discharge. <br />Outfa11007A (Prospect Pond). This pond was reported as having no discharge. This pond was dry at <br />the time of the March 26, 2003 CDMG inspection. <br />Outfall OOSA (West Pit Pond). This pond was reported as having no discharge. There was no <br />discharge at the time of the inspections by the Division. <br />Outfa11009A (Section 16 Pond). This pond was reported as having no discharge. This pond was not <br />checked on the ground by the Division during this quarter. <br />Outfall O10 A (Taylor Creek Pond). This pond was reported as having no discharge.
