Box 226, 1st and Columbia, Delta Colorado <br />81416, (303)874-7561 has filed, with the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation <br />Division, an application for a permit to conduct coal mining under <br />provisions of the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act of 1979. <br />The legal description of the proposed mine is as follows: The NFt~ <br />NW; Section 12; 4;~Sw;, the SW; t•[W: and the W~5 SE; NWT of Section 12; <br />NW: SE ;, the E~NE;SW;, the WANE;, the SF.:NE:, and the east 300 feet <br />of the SE; NW; of Section 11; and the W;, SE; Section 2, all in T 13 S, <br />R 95 W, 6th P.M.. <br />The surface of the proposed permit area is owned by Grand Mesa: Coal <br />., Company and several private individuals. , <br />The Red Canyon #1 Mine is currently in operation. The map described <br />below indicates the towns, water bodies, local landmarks and routes <br />necessary to realily identify the proposed permit area. The <br />proposed postmining use of the affected land is a wildlife habitat. <br />A 7.5 minutes quadrangle map of Cedaredge, Colorado contains the area <br />of the proposed operation. A copy of the application is available <br />for public inspection at the Delta County Courthouse, in Delta, <br />Colorado 81416. <br />Written comments, objections, or requests for an informal conference <br />on the application may be submitted to, and additional information <br />obtained from, the Mined Land Reclamation Division, Room 423, <br />1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203, (303)839-3567. <br />taritten comments, objections, or requests for an informal conference <br />must be filled at the Division by 5:00 P.M., on April 17, 1981. <br /> <br />
