Mr. Peter
Page 4
September
V. O'C nor
23, 1985
189,350 cubic feet of underground storage area with a capacity of
1,416,000 gallons of water.
A wall rock sample of Boulder Creek granite was taken from the
face of the Time mine near the Wynone winze. It has been
delivered to the Hazen Research Laboratory in Golden; Colorado,
and a total chemical analysis is being performed to determine pos-
sible contamination. As soon as the results from this sample ere
obtained, a copy will be forwarded to the Mined Land Reclamation
Division. The following averaged chemical compositions of Boulder
Creek granite were taken from data published by the U.S. Geo-
logical Survey.
SiO2 - 66.0% Na2O - 3.3%
A12O3 - 16.0% K2O - 2.5%
Fe2O3 - 1.9% MnO - 0.1%
FeO - 2.0% H2O - 0.7%
MgO - 1.4% TiO2 - 0.7%
CaO - 4.8% P2O5 - 0.8%
These are averaged analyses of 7 samples that were grouped to
facilitate compositional variations within the Boulder Creek granite
near Gold Hill, Colorado.
3. A sample o[ the water flowing in Lett Hand Creek was taken from
the creek near where the pump will be situated. It was delivered to
the Hazen Research Laboratory in Golden, Colorado, and an analy-
sis of the water is being performed. The Gold Hill Ventures Limited
Partnership has discussed water monitoring methods with the Lett
Hand Ditch Company, end plans to sample the creek above and
below the point of diversion.
4. Gold HiH Ventures intends to draw water from a point of diversion
located on the south bank o[ Left Hand Creek. The pumping station
will occupy a 15 by 20 toot frame building, near a site with an
existing access road and power source. Water will be pumped 3,900
feet up Akins Gulch in a 2 inch diameter pipeline that will be
placed on the surface of the ground on the east side of an existing
mine access road. The water line will follow this road until it
reaches a point beneath the Gold Ring mine dump, where it will run
directly uphill to the Time mine's portal. The total amount of )and
surface that will be affected by the construction of the pumping
station is 0.013 acres. As we discussed at our meeting on September
18, 1985, the pipeline will not be buried, and its assembly will not
disturb the lend surface. We ere en ng topographic map
showing the location of the pumping tion, and a are increasing
the total acreage of affected land to 7.638 ecr s to encompass
this additional area within the permi boundary (Se Map B3).
