Weather was cloudy, cold, light snow,
about 1-3" of the snow on the ground, more in shaded areas. One
spring was noted, at the southeast end of sediment pond No. 2.
While the spring was frozen (and therefore not sampeled).it had
definitely flowed subsequent to the prior survey in December. The
amount of ice and other indications at the outflow indicate that
flow is small.
Several seeps in and along the base of the fill below the mine
bench and two seeps at the curve in [he access road above the gate
• were also noted. None were flowing. All show minimal flow in that
the wet areas (frozen at the time) were very small, and water was
either evaporating or seeping back into the fill material.
Another survey will be conducted in May, 1982, and samples
taken if flow is sufficent.
BAC:mc
Bruce A. Collins
Director of Property Development
Note: The company will provide pH, temperature and conductivity
measurements during the May 1982 survey for all springs
located. For any spring of measurable flow, flow rate will
be estimated.
r1
45ii
