GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING REPORT <br />GRAVEL EVALUATION <br />SADDLEHORN RANCH SITE <br />MILLIKEN, COLORADO <br />TERRACON PROJECT NO. 21016136 <br />JANUARY 14, 2002 <br />INTRODUCTION <br />This report contains the results of our gravel evaluation for the proposed gravel pit to be located at the <br />Saddlehorn ranch site in Milliken, Colorado. The site is located in part of Section 2, Township 4 North, <br />Range 67 West of the 6th Principal Meridian. <br />The purpose of these services is to provide information and geotechnical engineering <br />recommendations relative to: <br />• Subsurface soil and bedrock conditions <br />• Groundwater conditions <br />• Approximate quantity of overburden <br />o Approximate quantity of sand and gravel <br />o Visual evaluation of quality of sand and gravel <br />The recommendations contained in this report are based upon the results of field and laboratory <br />testing, engineering analyses, and experience with similar soil conditions, and our understanding of the <br />proposed project. <br />PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT <br />It is our understanding the site is to be mined for sand and gravel which is to be used as aggregate <br />for commercial use in construction materials such as structural fill, base course, concrete and <br />asphalt. <br />SITE EXPLORATION <br />The scope of the services performed for this project included a site reconnaissance by a field <br />engineer, a subsurface exploration program, laboratory testing and engineering analyses. <br />Field Exploration <br />Ten test borings were drilled at the site on November 13, 2001. The borings were drilled to <br />approximate depths of 20 to 40 feet at the locations shown on the Site Plan, Appendix A. The borings <br />
