Sequence of Activities on Site
The following is a listing of the sequence ofland-disturbing activities associated with the
proposed Two Rivers Rock project:
to
Topsoil removal, topsoil will be removed from all of the phase 1 area and initial plant set
up area (approx 3 acres total). Topsoil will be stockpiled for future reclamation.
2. Trench will be excavated from point X at approx Eastern most limit of mining to the
average flow line of the Little Thompson river (approx 4720 elev. This will facilitate
lowering of groundwater to that level and be incorporated into the discharge outlet for
future owner of storage rights.
Overburden removal will start near the discharge outlet and work both Westward along
mining limit until approximately 2 acres have been stripped of overburden.. Slope will
be excavated to approx.l :3. Work will be done with loader or excavator and trucks.or
scrapers. Material will me moved offsite for fill on adjacent Western Equipment & Truck
property.
Gravel excavation will start at point Y (the lowest point on the final lake bottom approx
elevation 4695) to facilitate pumping of water. Water will only be pumped during
periods of mining or reclamation. All other times water will be allowed to rise to the
level of the trench at point X. (approx 4720 elev)
5. As gravel mining moves away from starting point, a shelf running approx North & South
will be established. Full depth mining of this shelf will be accomplished using dozer or
excavator. Shelf will be advanced in a Westerly direction through the life of the pit. Rate
of advance determined by sales of material.
6. AT various intervals a portable plant will be setup to make materials for Westem
Equipment & Truck projects or for sale offsite. Plant will be set up near the current
mining area at that time.
7. Topsoil and overburden removal will advance along the same direction staying ahead of
gravel mining. Topsoil and overburden will be used as needed For reclamation of areas
mined. Reclamation to be done concurrently as mining advances. Balance will be sold
offsite. PVC liner to be installed in segments.
8. Final reclamation of the site with topsoiling and reseeding of all remaining disturbed
areas will occur. This includes all the pit edges, shoreline slopes (above and slightly
below the pre-determined reservoir water level). Backfilling of the pit slopes to an
undulating shoreline with 3:1 and 2:1 grades leading to the pit floor will have been
completed. Filling of the connected reservoir with decreed storage water will occur.
2RR app
CDMG 112
